Heading towards digital transformation
In an environment where the effective management of operations is becoming crucial, Centribel, a major player in the recycling of inert waste in Hainaut, asked Nubios to produce a technical and functional analysis of its processes. The objective? Optimize both the work of employees and internal operations through the digitalization of processes, while offering a solution that facilitates communication between sites. Thanks to this analysis, ways were explored to design an ERP tailored to the specific needs of the company. Discover how this study laid the foundations for a digital transformation designed to meet both the human and operational challenges of Centribel.
Before the intervention of Nubios, Centribel operated with separate processes, divided between several sorting centers. Each site managed weighing, entry and exit vouchers, and invoicing independently, which could lead to errors and difficulties in internal communication. The tools used were not interconnected, making it difficult to centralize information and limiting collaboration between teams.
Major challenges identified included:
Fragmented data management : Each sorting center used local tools to manage operations, making it difficult to consolidate information.
Repeated human errors : Manually entering weighings and vouchers could lead to errors and increased administrative workload.
Inefficient internal communication : The lack of a centralized system limited the fluidity of information exchanges between teams, which impacted decision-making and overall efficiency.
In order to modernise its processes and support its expansion, Centribel wanted to simplify the daily lives of its employees while improving the company's operational performance. The analysis carried out by Nubios therefore aimed to propose a solution capable of centralizing operations while ensuring better communication between teams, on all sites.
needs
During the technical and functional analysis, Nubios identified several specific needs that hampered Centribel's productivity. These needs reflect the operational challenges faced by the company in its daily operation and internal communication.
A centralized management system : Currently, information was scattered across different tools, each operating independently. Data from sorting centers (weighing, input/output vouchers, etc.) had to be consolidated manually, making management time consuming and error-prone. Centribel needed a unique system to centralize and synchronize this information in real time.
Reducing human errors : Manual processes, such as entering weighings or managing vouchers, regularly exposed teams to errors. This need forautomation was essential to make data reliable and reduce frequent administrative retouching.
Streamlining internal communication : Employees were struggling to access data in a fluid and centralized manner, creating lags in decision-making and information sharing. The need for a better flow of information between sorting centers was crucial to make processes more responsive.
Data compliance and traceability : To ensure compliance with sector regulations and guarantee flawless traceability, Centribel needed a automated traceability operations, from weighings to invoicing.
Objective
The analysis carried out by Nubios aimed to structure these needs in the form of clear objectives, oriented towards concrete solutions and adapted to Centribel's specificities. These goals go beyond simple operational requirements to guide the company's long-term strategy.
Optimizing operational efficiency : The main objective was toimprove overall productivity by reducing the time spent on manual management and error corrections. Automating repetitive processes, such as entering weighings and drawing up vouchers, should allow the company to focus on activities with higher added value.
Improving data visibility and transparency : By consolidating the information from each sorting center into a single system, Centribel could have a vision in real time of its operations, thus facilitating the management of flows and the making of strategic decisions.
Facilitate adoption by teams : Another key objective was to simplify the use of digital tools for employees. By facilitating access to data and automating cumbersome processes, ERP would allow teams to communicate better, save time, and increase productivity without additional effort.
Preparing for future business expansion : Finally, it was essential to think about the scalability of the solution. For Centribel, the objective was to design a flexible architecture able to adapt to the increase in data volume and operational flows.
Existing processes
Before the analysis, Centribel managed its operations with distinct tools, often independent of each other:
Proprietary software for weighing management : Each sorting center used this software to manage the weighing boxes, but the data then had to be transferred manually into the accounting systems.
Locally managed entry and exit vouchers : The vouchers were entered and tracked independently at each site, leading to data loss or tracking errors.
Billing and accounting : Billing was managed separately, with no direct link to center operations, making it difficult to consolidate information.
Processes imagined after analysis
The Nubios analysis made it possible to propose significant improvements through the implementation of a centralized and automated system:
Centralization of entry/exit vouchers and weighings : The weighing boxes would be directly connected to an ERP system, thus automating the transmission of data and limiting human intervention.
Automating administrative flows : Voucher information would be sent automatically to the billing modules, reducing the manual workload for administrative teams.
Real-time collaboration : Thanks to a single interface, employees could access data from the various centers, improve their communication and decision-making.
Result
The technical and functional analysis made it possible to highlight that the implementation of a tailor-made ERP seemed to be a suitable solution for Centribel. Business-specific processes, such as managing weights and entry and exit vouchers, require a customized solution that centralizes operations and automates flows. This solution, which has yet to be defined in its technical details, would offer Centribel better visibility on its operations, a reduction in human errors, and greater fluidity in internal communication. The analysis has thus opened the way to a digital transformation project which, based on this first study, can be adjusted according to the future needs and ambitions of the company.
